“Shpreh kënaqësinë time për raportet e publikuara këto ditë, me të cilat Komisioni Evropian rekomandon hapjen e negociatave të integrimit në Bashkimin Evropian me Shqipërinë dhe me ish Republikën Jugosllave të Maqedonisë. E shikoj si një njohje të merituar të reformave të rëndësishme që kanë bërë këto dy vende në rrugën e integrimit evropian dhe të aspiratave legjitime të qytetarëve të tyre për t’u bërë pjesë e BE-së në të ardhmen.”
Kështu u shpreh Ministri i Punëve të Jashtme dhe Bashkëpunimit Ndërkombëtar, Angelino Alfano, i cili më tej theksoi: “Ky rezultat i rëndësishëm është gjithashtu një hap i mëtejshëm në procesin e afrimit të gjithë rajonit ndaj Evropës. Ne shpresojmë tani që mundësia e hapur nga rekomandimet e Komisionit të mund të konkretizohet sa më shpejt me hapjen e negociatave, që nga ana jonë jemi të gatshëm t’i mbështetim, duke shoqëruar rrugëtimin Evropian të Tiranës dhe të Shkupit përmes vazhdimit dhe intensifikimin të reformave që kërkohen prej të dyja vendeve”.
“Italia, përkrahëse e përhershme e procesit të zgjerimit të BE-së, do të vazhdojë të theksojë natyrën strategjike të axhendëa evropiane, në funksion të begatisë, sigurisë dhe stabilitetit të mbarë kontinentit”, përfundoi shefi i diplomacisë italiane.
Opening of EU accession negotiations with Albania and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM)
I am very pleased about the reports the EU Commission recently published, in which it recommended to open accession negotiations with Albania and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). I believe this to be a well-deserved recognition of important reforms both Countries implemented while being engaged in the European integration process, and of the legitimate aspiration of their citizens to be part of the EU in the future,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano. He went on to say: “It is a significant result, which also represents a further step forward for the entire region towards the E.U.. We hope that the opportunity created by the EU Commission recommendations can soon lead to the opening of negotiations. In this respect we intend to support them, standing by Tirana and Skopje on their European course through the continuation and intensification of the reforms both Countries are required to implement”.
“Italy has always supported the EU enlargement process, and it will continue to reaffirm its strategic importance in the European agenda for the prosperity, security and stability of our continent,” Minister Alfano said.
